Georgia has a real winter. Gudauri sits about two hours from Tbilisi on the Georgian Military Highway, and the season typically runs from December into April. This is what to expect if you are relocating and want snow within driving distance of your desk.
The resorts, briefly
Gudauri is the main event: high, open, largely above the treeline and popular with freeriders. Bakuriani is gentler and more family oriented, roughly two and a half hours from the capital. Mestia in Svaneti is remote and dramatic, and Goderdzi in Adjara is the closest option to Batumi.

What it costs
Lift passes, rental and lessons are typically a fraction of Alpine pricing, and accommodation in Gudauri ranges from hostel beds to genuinely comfortable apartments and hotels. Prices climb over New Year and Georgian public holidays.

Getting there
Most people drive or take a private transfer from Tbilisi. The road can close in heavy snow, which is worth planning around if you have a flight the next morning. Our network trips run with transfers and accommodation arranged for the group.
Does it change the tax picture?
No. Where you ski has no bearing on Small Business Status or tax residency. Where you spend your days does, so if you intend to be tax resident in Georgia, count your days properly rather than assuming.
